ODIN at the ‘Vitamin D Standardization Program (VDSP): The Road Ahead’ workshop
ODIN will be represented at the important ‘Vitamin D Standardization Program (VDSP): The Road Ahead’ workshop at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington at the end of November. During this 2.5-day meeting, the Joint ODIN Project Coordinators will both present data from the project to highlight the importance standardization has had for European vitamin D research. The meeting (Nov 28-30th 2017), which will be available via webinar, is sponsored by the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements.
ODIN at the IUNS 21st International Congress of Nutrition
ODIN was represented at the IUNS 21st International Congress of Nutrition in Buenos Aires, Argentina 15-20th October 2017. Prof. Marcela González-Gross as part of her presentation provided an overview of the ODIN project in the session on ‘Vitamin D: new insights from physiology to clinical practice’, sponsored by the Spanish Nutrition Society. The session was very well attended and the presentation stimulated much interest.
ODIN presented at high level Food 2030 event in Brussels
Professor Mairead Kiely, the Joint Coordinator of ODIN, presented an important overview of the ODIN project and its key findings and impact at the European Commission’s high priority Food 2030 conference held on the 16th October in Brussels. This high-level event was intended to both disseminate successful European Research and Innovation (R&I) initiatives and to contribute to the ongoing Food Nutrition and Security science-policy debate. The stakeholders had the possibility to discuss and assess the current state of European research innovation and investment in this area, and to explore future needs. The presentation stimulated some very positive feedback on the projects work.
