VITAMIN D

Vitamin D is essential for human health. It controls various processes in the body and its primary role is to participate in the regulation of metabolism of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D has the potential to regulate – directly or indirectly – more than 200 different genes responsible for many biological processes of the human body.

Its main effects are:

  • participation in the management of bone density and health of teeth
  • strengthening of the immune system
  • maintenance of proper skeletal development of the foetus during pregnancy and prevention of low birth weight
  • promotion of increased production of breast milk during lactation
